BELLE PLAINE – Brian Skluzacek's RBI single broke a scoreless tie in the top of the 12th inning to lift Fort Ripley over Spring Hill in a Class C state tournament first-round game.

 

Bill Sather sprinted home to make it 2-0 on a wild pitch one batter later.

 

The Chargers put runners in scoring position with no outs but got just one run in on Cody Eichers' sacrifice fly. Louie Opatz grounded to second to end the game.

 

Jason Sather led the Rebels with three hits. Brett Kramer, Bill Sather and Ray Austin had two hits each.

 

Logan Kalis got the win, pitching the last four innings in relief with three hits allowed. He relieved Ethan Branum, who allowed three hits in eight innings with seven strikeouts.

 

Corey Schoenberg and Jamie Terres had two hits apiece for Spring Hill.

 

Fort Ripley will play Blue Earth in the second round at 7:30 p.m. on Friday in Belle Plaine.
